THE FARM BUREAU
What is it?
Your Farm Bureau is an organization made up of people . . . farmers, property owners, rural residents and friends of agriculture. Most people who are members have been members for several years . . . even generations.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) was formed in 1919. This state organization is presently comprised of 88 county Farm Bureaus with more than 200,000 family members. The Farm Bureau is a private, non-profit organization made up of volunteers at the local level who are dedicated to promoting agriculture, increasing net farm income and protecting private property.
Today, the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation that includes over 4 million families nationally.
In 1947 the local Mahoning County Farm Bureau Federation was formed as a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. It currently has over 7600 family members. As members, these families are part of a lot more than just farming. They are part of a voice that is heard from the county courthouse all the way to the nation's capitol. In addition to a strong legislative voice, member's receive insurance benefits from Nationwide Insurance on Health, Auto and Homeowner policies, a special discount on vision care, travel discounts, and more.
Your Farm Bureau also has programs and activities to involve youth, families, young farm couples and anyone with an interest or involvement in agriculture.
The Mahoning County Farm Bureau Annual Membership Fee is $60 per family which also includes an accidental death and special loss benefit. For more information contact your local county Farm Bureau office.
